Deanne Bertsch

Instructor in Dance.

Deanne has worked in and around Rosebud since 1993. She presently teachers movement classes at RSA and has begun creating devised dance shows which are her favourite types of shows to work on. These show usually centre around a true story told with narration, but mostly through movement or dance.

The pieces she has worked on most recently are New Blood, a story of reconciliation, about a man who endures residential school and becomes chief of his people, Mama Ararira, a story of a Rwandan girl who becomes separated from her mother and they are ruinited in Canada, and Hometown Glory, a story of teen bullying, addiction and foster care.

She has choreographed for Burnt Thicket Theatre, The Canadian Badlands Passion Play and numerous shows with Rosebud Theatre, notably Fiddler on the Roof, and Anne of Green Gables.
